Our Lionel Bowen Library lift is getting a makeover!
But don’t worry, the lift will only be out of action for a short period of time, from 27 March until early May 2023, and you can still access the library via the stairs. Library Administration on Level 2 can only be accessed via the fire stairs.
If you require access arrangements or need further information, please email contactus@randwick.nsw.gov.au or call us on 9093 6400.
Some events may have moved due to the lift closure – please ensure that you check your ticket information carefully as some locations may change.
We look forward to this exciting update and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I access the library if I have a pram?
There will be a designated spot in the foyer to park your pram while using the library. Please ensure you are able to take your belongings with you when leaving your pram. We ask that parents/caregivers with prams use the stairs so we can keep the staff lift in the carpark free for people with mobility needs.
Can I access the library if I can’t walk up the stairs?
Yes, there will be provisions in place to assist you with accessing the library. Our friendly staff will be more than happy to help. There is a lift in the carpark reserved for people who need mobility assistance. We recommend calling the library on 9093 6400 ahead of your arrival.
My class/workshop/event happens on Level 3, will I still be able to get there?
Check your event details closely. If your event has been relocated or postponed, you should have received an email notification. A limited number of classes/workshops/events will still take place on Level 3 during the upgrade, but they will only be accessible via the fire stairs. Staff will be available to direct you to your location.
