Book a kerb side pick up for your green waste

As we enter a busy period for household waste, Randwick Council wants to ensure as much household waste as possible ends up being recycled. Christmas is a busy time for waste and the red bin should be used as a last resort when discarding your items.

Randwick Recycling Centre open select Saturdays
To get through the busy month of December, Randwick Recycling Centre will open select Saturdays in December to assist residents in discarding their unwanted waste in a sustainable way.

The Centre, which is located at 72 Perry Street Matraville, will be open form 7:30am – 2:00pm on Saturday 3 December and Saturday 31 December. Green waste will not be accepted at these times.

The Randwick Recycling Centre accepts hard-to-recycle items such as electronics, chemical waste, wearable used clothing, white goods and metal recycling, polystyrene and excess yellow bin recyclables. Please note that soft plastics will no longer be accepted at the Randwick Recycling Centre as REDcycle have temporarily stopped accepting and collecting soft plastics. REDcycle is the only company in Australia who recycles soft plastics.

Excess green waste
As the rain falls and the sun shines, our gardens flourish. If you’ve got excess green waste that needs collecting, you can book a kerb-side green collection through our website. Search “book a clean up” on our website and fill in the form. Note your booking is for a green waste collection in the comments.

Christmas tree collection
A free annual collection of natural Christmas trees will occur across the Randwick LGA between January 9 – 24. Place your natural tree out the front of your house 24-hours before your scheduled pick-up date. To find out when your tree is due to be picked up, check our website. Tree pick ups are allocated by zone, so you’ll need to know your waste zone. Use the Waste Zones search tool on our website to learn yours.
