Would you like to spend summer at the beach as part of the surf lifesaving community? You can register to complete your Bronze Medallion through one of our local surf lifesaving clubs.

The Bronze Medallion Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) is the core award required to become a surf life saver around Australia.

You’ll learn surf skills, resuscitation techniques, basic first aid and important rescue techniques.

To complete a course you need to be:

• aged 15 years or over,
• a member of a surf club, and
• able to complete an unaided swim of 400m in 9 minutes or less in a swimming pool of at least 25m in length or over a measured open water course.

Bronze Medallion courses are typically run over a series of weeks, but the session times and dates will be specific to the club you choose to earn your accreditation through. Want to know more? Check out the clubs below and see what’s on offer.
