Randwick City will ring in the New Year with our 9pm family-friendly Coogee Sparkles fireworks display, supported by Eastern Beaches Police Area Command.
“2022 was the year life returned to a new-normal. It has been great to be able to gather in groups and enjoy the feeling of belonging that comes with being part of a community,” said Councillor Dylan Parker, Mayor of Randwick.
“The Coogee Sparkles is a free and family-friendly way to round out the year and look ahead to 2023 at one of Sydney's iconic beach-side locations," said Mayor Parker.
The display will consist of 15-minutes of fireworks that will be set off from the north end of Coogee Beach, near Dunningham Reserve. For safety reasons, this area will be part of an exclusion zone and will be inaccessible to the public.
There are multiple vantage points to view the fireworks around Coogee:
- Goldstein Reserve, Coogee: located right next to the beach
- On the sand at Coogee Beach
- Grant Reserve & Trenerry Reserve
- Clovelly Beach Car Park
- Burrows Park Headland
- Local restaurants and hotels: many local establishments within sight of the fireworks host excellent New Year’s Eve events
In addition to the display, children’s entertainment and musical acts will be roaming the Coogee Beach promenade from 2pm – 8.30pm.
Special event clearways and street closures will also be in place. Please see our website for more information.
