Come and see ABC Play School's Abi Tucker perform her show, The Mermaid's Tail at our Eco Living Festival on Sunday 18 September.

The Eco Living Festival is coming up on Sunday 18 September and there will be sustainable fun for everyone. Come along and bring the kids! There will be two locations with kids activities taking place throughout the day – the Kids Stage and the Enchanted Forest! Here’s what’s on:

The Kids Stage

Plant yourself in a good spot, right in front of the Kids Stage where you can be entertained about the importance of sustainable living, in a fun, exciting way!

Mic Conway – Rubbish – 10am
Join Mic Conway for his very original show and performance about the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! The show will feature junk musical instruments, magical trash, juggling, newspaper ripping, puppetry, singing and dancing.

The RRRR Pirates- 11am
The RRRR Pirates will continue with the important waste theme and encourage their crew to do the right thing, whether its recycling, reusing, reducing or rethinking what can be done to decrease the amount of rubbish that ends up in the ocean.

Bugs About – 12pm
Find out how even the smallest of creatures can be a big deal! At this event for every kid who loves creepy crawlies, you’ll learn about the anatomy of bugs, their lifecycles, adaptations, and how to be safe around bugs. Plus, we’ll discuss the importance of bugs in the environment and how our choices affect them and in-turn how that affects us.

Mic Conway (left) and the King and Queen of Green will be entertaining and educating the kids all about recycling and reducing waste.

King and Queen of Green – 1pm
The King & Queen of Green are here to share their travelling show that educates children (and adults!) on the importance of reducing waste to landfill by using composting, recycling and worm farms.

Abi Tucker and The Mermaid’s Recycled Tail! – 2pm
Join ABC's Play School Abi Tucker as she performs her puppet show for children, The Mermaid's Tail! Join in as you follow the Mermaid's musical journey taking children under the sea, while exploring nature, the environment and recycling!

The Enchanted Forest

Wander through the Enchanted Forest for the following hands-on activities that will be going all day long!

Puppet Making & Puppet Theatre
Join us at the Enchanted Forest where you can find your Nature Name and play a game of charades to see if your friends can guess it! Then, gather inspiration from your nature name to make a puppet from sustainable materials that you can bring home. Older kids can take part in building a puppet theatre out of cardboard including the stage, seating, decorations and more! Everyone is welcome to create a puppet and put on a show.

Library Truck
Need a bit of time out? Pop along to the library truck! You can have a look at the books, cop a squat on some pillows and enjoy a bit of a chill-out under the trees.

Make your own puppets and join us at the Rejuvenation Station 6, where you can learn your own nature name!
