4P parking is being rolled out across Randwick City's coastal locations.

With growing crowds and traffic at our beaches and along our coast, especially during summer, Randwick Council has decided to introduce 4-hour parking time limits at Phillip Bay, La Perouse, Little Bay, Malabar, Maroubra, Coogee and Clovelly.

The changes will promote higher turnover within our coastal car parks and local streets. This will increase the opportunity to find parking and prevent people from  parking all-day long, yet still allow enough time for a good trip to the beach.

The 4-hour rule will limit the amount of time visitors can stay at the beach and will ease concerns about overcrowding, particularly during the COVID pandemic.

In most cases, the 4-hour rule will be applied  between 8am and 10pm, so a car can be legally parked overnight from 6pm until noon the next day. No parking meters are being installed.

These new parking restrictions will not be introduced directly in front of your home, however roads with a coastal frontage (such as Marine Parade at Maroubra), will have restrictions on the coastal side of the road. Please refer to the maps below for parking changes most relevant to your area.

New 4P signs started being installed in December 2020 in some areas, and the remaining new parking signs will be installed by the end of January 2021.
