Mayors Christmas Card Bianca

This year’s Christmas card from Randwick Mayor Dylan Parker will bring a little extra joy to the world, courtesy of young local artists who have won this year’s competition to have their design featured on the Mayor’s annual greeting card.

Children from kindergarten to Year 6 were invited to draw, paint, photograph or create something that represents ‘Christmas in Randwick City’ to them. More than 130 entries were received and from these three age group winners and four runners up were chosen by the Mayor.

“It was such a special honour to see how local children celebrated Christmas and where they live,” said Mayor Parker. “There was so much creativity and colour and joy in every one of the entries, choosing winners and runners up was a wonderful challenge. There is a lot of talent out there! The designs that were chosen will bring a smile to the face of everyone who receives this year’s Christmas card, I have no doubt.

“I’d like to thank the students that participated this year and let them know how much I enjoyed seeing every single one of their entries.”

Each of the winners will see their design on the front of the Mayor’s Christmas card and will receive a personal certificate celebrating their win. Winners and runners up will also receive prizes from the Art Studio in Maroubra and the Sydney Art Store.
