It has been a number of years since the work at Coogee Beach promenade was completed. Since then, the community has enjoyed the convenience of the new amenities and change rooms that were built under the ground at the lower promenade on the beach front.
Over the years, the gate and fence have been battered by salt water spray, wind and rain and they are in need of repair. As we take the time to do this repair work, we will also be servicing the metal gate, which opens up at the front of the Coogee Beach promenade to ensure it remains safe.
To complete the works, sections of the metal gates that lead to the public amenities and Lifeguard's area will be removed. During this time, as the gate is removed, access will temporarily be restricted to the the beach-front public amenities and members of the public will be redirected to the alternative facilitates that are located on Goldstein Reserve. A temporary entrance gate will be installed.
The work will commence Thursday 8 April and is scheduled to take two weeks to remove the gate. The temporary gate will be in place and access to the bathrooms will open back up after two weeks, weather permitting.
Council appreciates your understanding and co-operation, while we undertake these essential repairs.
