Randwick City Mayor Danny Said

We find ourselves in extraordinary times. The large scale lifestyle changes that many of us have become subject to over the past few weeks in response to the novel coronavirus have no doubt had a big impact on each of you.

For some of us they require small changes in how we interact with friends we see or conduct business with our colleagues. For others the changes are much more far-reaching and will result in more time spent alone.

This is where our community has the chance to shine. Can I ask you to give your friends and neighbours in self-isolation a quick call? You can offer to help with any tasks they’re not able to perform or you just offer a quick conversation. Both will go a long way towards addressing any feelings of loneliness or helplessness they may be feeling.

Our Council staff are following all the protocols suggested by health agencies in order to keep themselves healthy and safe so that they can continue to deliver the services you rely on. As this dynamic situation continues to unfold we’ll have plenty of updates for you, so please visit the Covid-19 page on our website for the latest information or sign up to receive e-news so the updates are delivered straight to your inbox.

For updates on how Council is responding to the pandemic, please our dedicated COVID-19 page, which is updated regularly with news and information.
