Randwick Mayor commends local Surf Life Saving award winners

Randwick Mayor Danny Said today congratulated the award winners of the recent 2020 Surf Life Saving Sydney Awards of Excellence.
The awards were announced on Saturday 30 May 2020 online due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Randwick Mayor Danny Said congratulated all the winners.
“I’d like to commend this year’s Awards of Excellence winners. Surf Life Saving is such an important part of the Randwick City way of life and our volunteer surf life savers make an enormous contribution to our area’s sense of community.
“Our community is stronger for your contributions. Congratulations to the award winners and thank to all surf life saving club members and volunteers who selflessly give up their time to keep us safe on the beaches,” Mayor Danny Said stated.
Local Randwick City Surf Life Saving Club award winners were:
- Volunteer of the Year – Phil Carter – Maroubra SLSC
- Services Team of the Year – Randwick Surf Rescue 30 (SR30)
- Youth Surf Life Saver of the Year – Thomas Small – Clovelly SLSC
- Patrol Efficiency by Operational Area – Maroubra and South Maroubra SLSCs
- U15 Surf Lifesaver of the Year – Kai Jones – South Maroubra SLSC
- Trainer of the Year – Doug Hawkins – Coogee SLSC
- Assessor of the Year – Paul O’Donohue – Maroubra SLSC
- Facilitator of the Year – Ryan Rosenbaum – Maroubra SLSC
- Most Awards Per Operational Area – Coogee SLSC
- JD Athlete of the Year 13-14 years male – Marcus Da Silva – Maroubra SLSC
- JD Athlete of the Year 11-12 years female – Miah Georgas – Maroubra SLSC
- JD Team of the Year – Maroubra Junior March Past Team
- JD Age Manager of the Year – Lucile Testard – Maroubra SLSC
