Have you heard about our sustainability rebates but don't know where to start? An energy assessment can help you learn what you should prioritise in your home or business to reduce your energy bills.

We're offering a rebate of $150 for energy assessments as part of Community Sustainable, a program that supports houses, units and businesses in the Randwick local government area to implement energy and water saving initiatives.

To help you find a reputable assessment provider, we've partnered with the Australian Energy Foundation - a for-purpose organisation who can put you in touch with reputable providers for energy assessments, rooftop solar and batteries, insulation, lighting and more.

Usually a home energy assessment provided via the Australian Energy Foundation cost around $330 (depending on the size of your home) and take up to 2 hours. However, with Council's energy assessment rebate of $150, the cost is almost halved, so you can receive a full home energy assessment for around $180.

What does an assessment include?

Some of the topics the assessment will include are the building shell, hot water systems, renewable energy, heating and cooling, lighting, windows and glazing, insulation, your appliances, draught proofing and energy efficient behaviours.

Following the assessment, you will receive a comprehensive report with recommendations and priority actions specific to your property to help improve its energy efficiency.

Visit Home Energy Assessments and Business Energy Assessments to request a quote for your home or business or to find more information.

If  you know of another reputable provider of energy assessments that you'd rather use, you can still apply for the energy assessment rebate for this provider as Council can approve the rebate application on a case-by-case basis. Just attach a copy of their quote to your Eligibility Form.
