Christmas is a time to stop for a moment, and give thanks for our family, friends and the beautiful place in which we live. There are many opportunities to join with others within your community to celebrate the festive season – we’ve gathered all the options here in one handy spot, so you can start to plan some of your Yuletide activities.

Randwick Council wishes you all a happy, healthy and safe Christmas and hopes that your new year will be full of promise and joy.

  3. Street parties

    Council supports community Christmas street parties by funding and facilitating road closures, public liability insurance and traffic control. Supporting street parties helps build a sense of community and ensures the parties are as safe and enjoyable as possible. Residents are encouraged to apply early for the year ahead.   4. Markets

    Blak Markets Christmas Market

    When: Sun 15 Dec 2019
    Time: 9.30am – 3pm
    Location: Bare Island

    The Blak Markets will be returning to Bare Island for a special Christmas market.
    Cost: $2.50

    The Blak Markets are a great chance to buy authentic unique gifts  knowing that 100% of the profits go back into Aboriginal communities. The Blak Markets feature authentic, original and affordable Aboriginal artworks, beauty products and one-of-a-kind homewares and jewellery as well as Indigenous inspired food and refreshments. There will also be cultural dance performance, Aboriginal Singing performance and an interactive session for the kids.   5. Christmas Lights

    Randwick Council has been a supporter of Sydney Children's Hospital Lights For Kids campaign. Randwick Council residents can spread joy to children in Hospital by decorating their homes in Christmas lights and raise money for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation at the same time. To participate, decorate your home with Christmas lights, register your address here and watch as your lights brighten the lives of sick children.

  6. Christmas Day rubbish collection
  7. Due to early waste transfer station closure on Christmas Day, garbage and recycling bin collection will commence one hour earlier (5am instead of 6am) in all zones scheduled for collection on Wednesday 25 December 2019.
