Randwick Community Race Day

Randwick City Council and the Australian Turf Club have once again partnered to host a free fun-filled family day at Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday, 6 July from 10.30am.

The annual Randwick Community Race Day offers complimentary entry for Randwick residents and ratepayers and features a host of free children’s activities, including a live performance by Pinkfong and Baby Shark plus Justice League superheroes Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman and the local CF5 Dance Troupe.

There will also be the chance to meet Randwick Council’s Larry the Lifeguard and a roaming T-Rex dinosaur, while families can explore the workings of a clean Council garbage truck, fashion and ocean sustainability workshop, pony rides, jumping castles, carousel and petting zoo.

On turf there will be a quality nine race card line-up featuring the $125,000 Randwick Mayor’s Cup.

Deputy Mayor of Randwick Danny Said says the Council and the Australian Turf Club are proud to offer a free family-friendly day at Royal Randwick Racecourse for the community.

“Each year this event gets bigger and better as more and more families realise what a great opportunity this is to enjoy a fun, casual day with extended family and friends. It creates a strong sense of pride within the community, especially when neighbours bump into each other, or kids recognise friends from school.

“We are proud to once again be able to offer the community the chance to visit one of Australia’s most famous sporting destinations free of charge.

“Royal Randwick Racecourse is a landmark in this area and it’s great that a new generation of families get to create memories here.”
