For the third year in a row, Randwick Council has been awarded the Going Green Education Award at the Blue Star Sustainability Awards announced this week.

The award, which is for the Council’s Eco-Living Fair, recognises outstanding environmental education programs that help communities achieve sustainability by fostering community awareness and behavioural change.

“The Eco-living Fair is one of my favourite events that Randwick Council puts on each year and it continues to grow in popularity,” said Randwick Mayor Lindsay Shurey.

“The initiative has been a huge success and includes many programs which are enhancing and preserving our beautiful environment in Randwick City. We know that even the smallest lifestyle changes can make a difference, and the Eco-living Fair empowers our residents to make such changes.

“This is the first time a Council has taken out the same Blue Star Sustainability Award three years in a row, which as a Greens Mayor makes me very proud of our team.”
