Randwick City ratepayers will not be charged the Fire and Emergency Services Levy (FESL) when they receive their 2017-18 rates notice this July.

The NSW Government has said it will defer the introduction of FESL to ensure that small to medium businesses do not face an unreasonable burden in their contribution to the State’s fire and emergency services.

This is an indefinite deferral while the State Government works with local government, fire and emergency services, the insurance industry and other stakeholders to identify a better funding model.

The deferral of FESL for the 2017-18 period is not expected to delay the printing and sending of notices to Randwick City ratepayers.

For further information visit the NSW Government's official FESL website.
