Malabar Headland

Australia's newest National Park is now open and it's in your backyard! After decades of lobbying by local residents, Council and our State and Federal politicians, the Headland is now publicly accessible for the first time in 100 years with a 3.7km Boora Point walking track around the escarpment.

Council will build an additional western walking track later this year. Access to the National Park is via South Maroubra Beach car park or the Fishermans Rd boat ramp at Malabar. It's closed when the rifle range is in use.

Visit the Malabar Headland National Park website.

Please note the National Park is only open on certain days when the rifle range is not in use. Please visit the National Parks and Wildlife Service Local Alerts page to check the opening schedule before visiting the park.
