A new tennis centre at Heffron Park in Maroubra is one step closer following a period of community consultation in which your views were heard.

The proposal to build a new tennis centre to replace the existing facility along the Bunnerong Rd side of the Park was announced in March 2017, and marks another major component in the ongoing upgrade of Heffron Park.

Council has taken onboard feedback from the community with requests for extra change rooms, sun shading, a storage shed and an additional drinking fountain were all agreed by Council at a meeting on 13 June 2017.

Designed to cater for all levels of play, and supported by Tennis NSW, the new facility will be a great asset for Heffron Park and for Randwick City.

It will include an acrylic surface show court with spectator seating, nine additional courts and tennis clubhouse with a kiosk and changing facilities.

Council will commence a tender process for the operation of the new facility. This is anticipated to take place towards the end of the construction of the new tennis centre – please check Council website for updates.
