Randwick Mayor Ted Seng and Waverley Mayor Sally Betts are calling on the eastern suburbs community to get behind our famous Coastal Walk and make it the number one Sydney attraction on TripAdvisor.

After holding the top position for more than 12 months, the iconic and free attraction has dropped to number two spot behind Sydney Harbour.

Randwick Mayor Ted Seng said the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk is the most spectacular, free activity for tourists and residents alike.

“Our Coastal Walkway has some of the best views in the southern hemisphere,” he said. “This stretch of coastline is, quite simply, spectacular and is definitely worthy of number one position.

“We know it already attracts thousands of visitors a day, millions a year and connects the two great communities of Randwick and Waverley. If we can get it back to number one position, where it belongs, we’ll be able to further tap into some of the economic potential that comes from tourists visiting this beautiful location,” Mayor Seng said.

Waverley Mayor Sally Betts said:

“We know the world’s tourists love the Bondi to Coogee walk – it is stunning, easy to access and free. We also know our own residents love and use the walk every day.  Together we can ensure TripAdvisor return our beautiful coastline to where it belongs – the #1 spot.”

“There are no other city beaches in the world that are linked by such an iconic and magnificent cliff walk. If you love the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk, write a review

about your experience on TripAdvisor and show the world it really is the #1 thing to do in Sydney,” Mayor Betts said.

TripAdvisor lists the top the 500 things to do in Sydney using the ratings and reviews from the general public. The two councils are working together on a joint campaign encouraging more TripAdvisor reviews to help push the Bondi – Coogee Coastal Walk back to number one position.

The campaign, which will run until mid-November, is expected to include outdoor signage along the walkway, advertising and social media promotion as well as partnering with local businesses in the area.
