Kensington Park Community Centre landscape design

The first talk of the 2018 Architecture on Show series explored Council’s Kensington Park Community Centre and landscape design redevelopment.

We engaged JMD Design, together with Melocco & Moore Architects to convert the old Kensington Bowling Club into a Community Centre and a recreational hub. This was part of the Buildings for our Community program.

Philip Moore of Melocco and Moore Architects presented on the Kensington Park Community Centre focusing on the site’s history, the building and site’s opportunities, the construction process and the final result.

Anton James of JMD Design presented on the award-winning landscape design that returned the surrounding open space to public use and restitched the space into the broader context of Kensington Park.

The talk was curated by Andrew Nimmo, NSW Chapter President, Australian Institute of Architects.
