Wylie's Bath Rock Pool

Work to improve and upgrade the baths is set to begin

An upgrade at Wylie's Bath will begin mid-May 2020

As part of its commitment to improving facilities and services for residents, Randwick City Council will be upgrading Wylies Baths Rock Pool in Coogee.

We will endeavour to keep roads open at all times, however some traffic control may be necessary at certain stages of the project in order to allow for deliveries and any machinery that needs access to the baths during the project. Some footpaths may be closed and sign-posted detours will be put in place to keep pedestrians walking past the area safe.

Noise, erosion and dust controls will be used to mitigate any adverse impacts on the surrounding community and environment.

The baths will be closed for the duration of the work. We apologise for any inconvenience caused throughout the project, but we hope the community sees the great benefit this upgrade will provide to residents and visitors.

Scope of works

The scope of works includes but is not limited to:

  • Installation of a new valve so the pool can be drained and easily and maintained in the future
  • Demolition of existing stairs
  • Construction of new compliant concrete stairs
  • Repair of leaks to the pool

Key dates

Work is scheduled to commence the week of the Monday 18 May and is due to be completed by the end of July 2020 (weather permitting).  The baths will be closed to the public for the duration of the work.
