Frenchmans Bay Playground Upgrade

A new playground for families

Frenchmans Bay Playground construction - 7 May 2020

Randwick City Council is upgrading the playground at Frenchmans Bay, La Perouse. This project will revitalise the area and create a fun and interactive play space for children.

We consulted the community and have designed a playground that will provide opportunities for toddlers through to primary school aged children to play and  have fun on a variety of equipment.

The project is part of Randwick Council’s COVID-19 Community Support Package. We are proceeding with the construction of new projects and upgrades as part of our support for local jobs and the economy.

YOUR NEW PLAYGROUND WILL INCLUDE:

  • Inclusive timber boat for imaginative play
  • Ropeplay dome for climbing
  • Swings with toddler seat, standard seat and basket seat
  • Inclusive carousel for spinning
  • Multiplay equipment for all ages
  • Climbing mounds
  • Embankment slide
  • Rope climbing feature
  • A larger recreational area
  • New landscaping and seating

The playground will provide opportunities for social interaction, imagination, participation, balance, coordination, calculated risk-taking, climbing and more. Above all, our goal is to create a place where the community feels a sense of belonging.
Construction is expected to  be complete in mid June 2020, weather dependent.
