Construction of new public toilets, showers and changerooms is underway and expected to be completed by mid-2017.
The new facilities will provide 21 new toilets and 12 showers including accessible cubicles, male and female change rooms, a family change area with additional showers, public lockers and a new Lifeguard Office and kiosk.
The existing toilets at Goldstein Reserve will be maintained, effectively tripling the capacity of facilities for beachgoers.
The work is part of Randwick City Council’s ongoing commitment to improving facilities and services for residents and is expected to be completed in 2017.
The beach will remain open at all times and Council’s Lifeguards have been temporarily relocated to the Centre promenade while the work takes place.

A Development Application for the project was lodged by Council in April 2015 and was on public exhibition from 6 - 20 May 2015.

In late 2013 we surveyed residents, shoppers and visitors about the existing Coogee Beach building in Goldstein Reserve. The information was used to help determine people's attitudes to the existing building. Visit our special consultation website to see more details including the survey results.
Coogee Town Centre
In June 2014 we surveyed all residents, ratepayers and business owners in the Coogee suburb about a range of issues to do with Coogee beachside parks. This survey included questions about the proposed new toilets on the Coogee promenade and toilets in Dunningham Reserve. View the details on our special consultation website.
