Community Language Collections
Randwick City Library holds collections of resources in a number of languages. These resources include books, magazines, ebooks and audio-visual material in a variety of community languages:
- Chinese
- French
- Greek
- Indonesian
- Polish
- Russian
- Spanish
For languages that the library does not hold, you can bulk request items in your language online, or at any branch. for individual titles, you will need to complete an Inter-Library Loan request, fees apply.
To see what collections are available to request, you can search the Community Languages Collection Directory on the State Library's website.
Community language newspapers are also available in:
- Chinese: 澳洲新報 (Australian Chinese Daily) at all three locations.
- Greek: Έχουμε τώρα τo (Greek Herald) at Lionel Bowen Library, Maroubra.
- Spanish: El Heraldo Español (The Spanish Herald) at Lionel Bowen Library, Maroubra.
eReading app indyreads by Odilo from the State Library of NSW is building up their LOTE (languages other than English) collection. They currently have eBooks in Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Romanian and Vietnamese. To find them, select Search and then Browse by language in the indyreads app or via your web browser.
