Creative II

Creative II - an exhibition of HSC major works: January - March 2014

The intention of Creative is to showcase the talents and achievements of HSC students with a connection to the local area in a variety of subjects. After the success of the inaugural exhibition in 2013, the event is now annual.

The exhibition displayed works from 10 different students and included over 35 individual pieces. The students attended a wide range of schools: Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart, Kensington; Matraville Sports High; Kincoppal, Rose Bay; JJ Cahill Memorial High School; Randwick Girls High School; St Clare's College; Sydney Technical High School; Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design.

The works were submitted for assessment in Visual Arts, Music, Textiles and Industrial Design in the 2013 HSC. They included a variety of media: photography, costume, an original music composition ('Above the sea with you' by Kathleen Djohari), industrial design, painting, drawing and sculpture.

The pieces included in the exhibition scored highly in the HSC and one piece was shortlisted for the 2014 ArtExpress.

This year two of the students were year 11 students undertaking some of their HSC subjects prior to year 12 at part of the Pathways programme.

The marketing image seen on all of the publicity for the second Creative exhibition is an origami sculpture from Juliette Aimes body of work "Colour Me Symbiosis".
