NO MORE OVERDUE/LATE FINES
From 1 July 2020, overdue fines no longer exist at Randwick City Library. You won't be fined for overdue items, provided they are returned to us in a reasonable condition. Lost and damaged item fees as well as interlibrary-loan fees still apply. Please refer to the current library fees and charges for details.
If you have an overdue item your membership will be suspended.
From 1 July 2020, eligible items checked out to you will be automatically renewed on the due date (up to three times).
Automatic renewal will not occur if the item:
- has reached its maximum renewal limit
- has been reserved by another library patron
- is from a collection that cannot be renewed (Bestsellers, Red Hot Reads and HSC materials).
You will receive an email confirming whether your loan has been renewed. If you do not have an email registered with the library, you will not receive a notification.
You can check the status of your library membership anytime online or via the myLibrary App on your smart device.
From 1 July 2020, if you have an overdue item or any outstanding fees on your membership you will be unable to:
- borrow any items from the library or eLibrary
- use the library computers
- use the library printers/scanners.
When overdue items have been returned and all outstanding fees paid, your membership will be reactivated.
RETURNED ITEMS QUARANTINED FOR UP TO 48 HOURS
Due to the impact of Covid19, all returned items will continue to be quarantined for up to 48 hours. This means returned items will remain checked out to you until the end of the quarantine period. After this time, they will be checked in and removed from your account.
