Friday volunteers in the permaculture garden

Fri 12 Feb 2016 - Fri 29 Jan 2016

9:30am - 12:30pm

Every week on Friday, until further notice
Permaculture Interpretive Garden
Randwick Community Centre, 27 Munda St Randwick

BUSH FOODS, natives, fruit trees, herbs and vegies in the permaculture, bushfood and habitat garden… That's what we're doing this Friday. We have the ideas, the plants… and the invitation to you to join our two horticultural educators — Emma Daniell and Jon Kingston — for our Friday morning Garden Volunteer PermaBee in the Permaculture Interpretive Garden. If wet weather PermaBee will be cancelled.

Bookings not required.. just pop in!

It's all about learning by doing… a relaxed and easy way to acquire gardening skills. Not only will we plant out in our vegie area or food forest or bushfood trail or our habitat trail, but we may also propagate, transplant, harvest, compost and maintain the garden. These are skills you take home to apply in your own garden.

The Permaculture Interpretive Garden (PIG), home to our PermaBees, is a community park rather than a community garden. You just turn up when you can and join in the fun and learning. It's and edible community park that is also a learning space for Randwick Council's Organic Gardening, Balcony Gardening and Permaculture Orchard courses. And, with its public BBQ, it's a popular venue for children's birthday parties — though you have to get there early to find space.

See you there on Friday's. Don't forget your hat, sun cream, covered shoes… and bring some good weather with you, too.

If wet weather, PermaBee will be cancelled.

Also drop off your soft plastics, styrofoam and used batteries during this time at the timber Classroom.
