As the summer comes to an end, the Randwick Lifeguards aren’t slowing down! In fact, they’re gearing up to take on Waverley Council and Sutherland Shire Council in the annual Lifeguard Challenge to help raise money for the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
The event takes place this year on Sunday 15 March. Lifeguards will race over 30km from Bondi Beach to Cronulla Beach. Kicking off at 6:30am from Bondi ! They'll paddle, swim and run all the way to the finish line at Cronulla Beach.
This year, the three Councils hope to raise a combined amount of $20,000 for the event. We’re encouraging everyone to get behind our Lifeguards for this cause. Here's where you can donate!
The Sydney Chidren’s Hosptial helps thousands of children get well each year from all around Australia – and we’re lucky enough in Randwick City to have this hospital right on our doorstep. There are so many kids and their families who need our support.
We hope you can find a place along the race route to watch and cheer on all the lifeguards. This competition is one not to be missed! Here's where you can find a map of the route and the best places to watch!
Randwick City Council Lifeguards thank you for your support! If you'd like to donate, please do through the Sydney Children's Hospital here: https://www.fundraiseforsydneykids.org.au/fundraisers/Lifeguardchallenge/lifeguard-challenge-2020
