Coastal Walkway extension through NSW Golf Course.

A new section of Coastal Walkway currently under construction at Cape Banks will complete a critical missing link helping walkers to safely traverse through the NSW Golf Course at La Perouse.

The Randwick City Council project will connect the existing Henry Head walking track in the Kamay Botany Bay National Park which currently ends at Cruwee Cove Beach with a public car park in the National Park near the Westpac Helicopter Rescue Base.

The walkway upgrade has been designed in consultation with the NSW Golf Course who have taken the opportunity to redesign their iconic sixth hole.

Randwick Mayor Kathy Neilson said the works are a win-win for walkers and golfers.

“This work opens up a whole new section of our coast to walkers to enjoy safely without impacting on golfers. I’d like to thank the NSW Golf Course for their cooperation and assistance. It’s a great example of organisations working together to share responsible access to public land.”

Construction on the Coastal Walkway extension.

The Coastal Walkway extension is funded by Council’s Sustaining our City Environmental Levy and follows the opening in February 2018 of the popular Malabar Headland Western Escarpment Walking Track.

Public access to the area may be affected. Please check local signage. Work is due to be completed in early 2019.
