reduce speed sign

Roadworks to install new speed limit signs will commence on Sunday 3 June 2018 in line with the NSW Government’s decision to reduce the speed limit to 50km/h on some Randwick roads.

The new speed limit will apply to Darley Road, Cowper Street, Frenchmans Road, Avoca Street, Cuthill Street, Belmore Road, Coogee Bay Road and Carrington Road in Randwick and Council Street in Bondi Junction. See map, below, for more information.

Works will be conducted between 8pm and 5am from Sunday 3 June until Friday 8 June and may require some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe. These may include traffic diversions or changes to lane configurations and will only last during the sign installation stage.

There will be some noise associated with installing signage and road markings. Roads and Maritime Services, who are installing the signs, have advised they will follow noise and environmental guidelines to minimise its impact, including completing the noisier tasks by 11pm and staging them in different locations.

Residents can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website www.saferroadsnsw.com.au to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in Randwick.
