With the opening of the Malabar Headland Western Walking Track just a few days away, we’re addressing concerns around whether our newest bush trail will be affected by the adjacent ANZAC Rifle Range on shooting days. The good news is no it won’t!

The Western Walking Track runs from Pioneers Park at Malabar to Arthur Byrne Reserve, South Maroubra, which is behind the Rifle Range. The track then links to the coastal Eastern Walking Track (also referred to as the Boora Point Walking Track) which follows the coastline, creating an optional circular 4km loop. 

 However, the Eastern Walking Track ONLY is subject to closures on shooting days. This means you can walk from Malabar to South Maroubra seven days a week – hooray! – but will need to check the shooting schedule in order to make it a circular loop and use the Eastern Walking Track.
