Randwick Council promises a stomp down memory lane when the Pop! Into Randwick exhibition opens at the Lionel Bowen Library on Saturday 2 September from 12 noon.

On display as part of History Week, the Pop! Into Randwick exhibition will tell the story of music and pop culture through the ages in our beachside suburbs.

Pop! Into Randwick will feature music memorabilia on loan from Little Pattie, with items from Midnight Oil, INXS, The Bee Gees and iconic local music venues such as Selina’s and Stone’s Milk Bar.

“Music is a powerful means of connecting people, and local music venues such as Stone’s Milk Bar, Selina’s and the surf clubs have all played their part in bringing the people of Randwick together,” said Randwick Mayor Noel D’Souza.

“They are an integral part of our shared cultural history and it’s wonderful to have their involvement in this exhibition.”

Cr Kathy Neilson will open the exhibition with Patricia “Little Pattie” Thompson. Little Pattie will talk about her music career and memories. To attend the exhibition launch and meet Little Pattie bookings are essential. Call Lionel Bowen Library to make your booking on 9093 6400 as places are strictly limited.
