It seems like summer is finally here! It's great to see our beaches have received glowing reports for water quality as outlined in the NSW Government’s 2015 State of the Beaches report.

All 10 beaches have been rated very good or good, and it’s particularly pleasing to see that our beautiful Malabar Beach has maintained its good rating for the third year in a row. It was previously rated poor or very poor prior to a joint project with Sydney Water to divert stormwater away from the beach which is now paying dividends for swimmers.

Through our Sustaining Our City program, we have focused on improving water use and quality across the city for more than a decade. A big part of the thanks must also go to our residents who continue to do their bit to reduce pollution and contaminants from reaching our beautiful waterways.
