Mayor's Messages

Over the last six months, Randwick City Council has completed its most extensive community consultation in the Council's history. The purpose of the consultation was to seek your views on Council mergers and the NSW Government's Fit for the Future proposal.

We've worked hard to provide our residents with as much information as possible, to help you tell us what you'd like to see for Randwick City's future.

We have found that 51 per cent of people are supportive of some type of merger, but that overwhelmingly, they don't want to see us forced into a global city merger with Sydney, Waverley, Woollahra and Botany.

As Mayor of Randwick, I believe the right thing to do is listen to my community and further pursue an eastern suburbs council merger, potentially with Waverley and Woollahra.

On 26 May, Councillors will consider making a submission to the NSW Government by 30 June. To view our extensive reports visit www.yoursay.randwick.nsw.gov.au/future
