Over the weekend Randwick City Council and the Kingsford Chamber of Commerce hosted the first Kingsford Night Noodle Markets event. Despite some rain late in the afternoon, I am pleased to hear that the event was a fantastic success with 2000 people packing Meeks Street to sample some of the finest Asian food delights on offer in Sydney.

I've always known that Kingsford is an undiscovered Chinatown that offers some amazing cuisines from a variety of different cultures – now, the rest of Sydney knows it too.

Randwick City Council is passionate about supporting the growth of our local economy.  I would like to thank all my fellow Councillors for supporting the implementation of this event, particularly West Ward Councillors Greg Moore and Harry Stavrinos.  

Finally, to the local businesses that braved the weather, and served up their finest food, thank you. The event was a complete success thanks to your hard work. Well done.
