Looking after our environment

Do you know what sort of waste to put in each of your bins? Do you find it hard to get your bin in and out for collection? And did you know that Randwick City Council offers two free on call clean-up services a years for bulky items?

Council is seeking feedback and surveying residents about waste and waste services. And the more we find out, the more we can improve waste services in our City and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. And just by completing the Waste Survey, you can go into the draw to win some fantastic prizes, including an Apple iPod Nano, Tom Tom in-car GPS, and a Kindle e-reader.

Randwick Mayor Councillor Scott Nash urged residents to take a few minutes to complete the survey.

"Sydney is running out of landfill sites, and it's getting more expensive to dispose of waste in this way. The solution is easy: reduce rubbish going to landfill. This will save residents' money, and the environment too.

"I encourage people to have their say by completing the waste survey. Council values input from residents on this critical issue, and there are some great prizes up for grabs too."

You can complete the survey online at http://yoursayrandwick.com.au/waste or you can pick up a hard copy from Council's Customer Service Centre, any of Council's libraries, or by phoning Council's Call Centre on 1300 722 542.
