Celebrity chefs Sammy and Bella are bringing their pop-up burger bar to Randwick City Council's annual Eco-Living Fair on Sunday 16 September at the Randwick Community Centre, 27 Munda Street Randwick.
The Eco-Living Fair is a celebration of all things sustainable and a great day out for families with mouth-watering organic food, fabulous market stalls, a colourful gypsy caravan bursting with free kids activities including a native wildlife show, interactive performances and music, and live bands rocking the main stage.
The Eco-Living Fair is also the perfect opportunity to find out how easy it is to make your home and garden more sustainable - and save money on your energy and water bills. Get your hands dirty at a worm farm workshop, join in the panel discussion "Love food, hate waste", visit our sustainable 'demonstration house', and pick the brains of the experts with your questions about organic food, composting, gardening or green cleaning.
Randwick Mayor Councillor Scott Nash said there really will be something for everyone.
"The Eco-Living Fair is a great celebration of our environment and our community. You can pick up some gardening tips, taste some fabulous food, and even have a tour of Randwick Environmental Park. Kids will love the vintage carousel, umbrella painting, and giant snakes and ladders games.
"This year we're also introducing the Book Exchange - bring along a book - or 10 - that you've read, and swap it for one you haven't. It's the ultimate in recycling!
"To encourage sustainable transport options, the fair will also have a special free valet parking for bikes and free bike check ups. Or catch the free shuttle bus from Bowen Library in Maroubra - on the hour from 10am until 2pm," he said.
A truly green event, the Eco-Living Fair this year will be powered using bio-diesel and solar energy and hungry worms will compost all the food leftovers. Three thousand native trees will also be given away on the day.
The Eco-Living Fair will be held at Randwick Community Centre, 27 Munda Street on Sunday 16 September from 10.30am - 3.30pm. More info: Randwick City Council Eco-living Fair or call 9399 0792.
