Registration for winter sports
With many locals representing our country and state in sports such as netball, rugby league and surfing, it's no wonder that Randwick City is known as the Sports Coast.

I like to think that sport is about local communities. Each and every world champion, Commonwealth and Olympic medallist began their careers locally - whether it was through a local athletics club, swimming association or the school football team - it all began at 'home'.

Of course, sport is about much more than winning or becoming a world champion. It's about teamwork, health, fitness and mateship.

Carol Matthews, the wife of South Ward Councillor Charles Matthews, underwent surgery last week. On behalf of my fellow Councillors, I wish Carol a speedy recovery.
