Governance & Financial Services provide essential call centre and customer service to the elected members, residents and ratepayers of Randwick.
Governance & Financial Services also provide internal services that include Financial Management, Administration, Risk Management and Information Technology.
As Council is an information provider, this directorate is central to our ability to respond promptly and provide long-term sustainability to the residents and rate payers of our city.

City Planning is responsible for setting a strategic planning direction for the city as well as providing high quality development assessment and health & building services. It also coordinates council's environmental activities with the main focus being the sustaining our city program.
City Planning also stages council's community events program. Programs and activities within City Planning are quite varied and our staff have diverse backgrounds and qualifications, but with one common goal. This is to deliver the highest quality customer service to our residents.

City Services looks after all the service provisions for the local community as well as the other stakeholders in our city. It delivers services related to civil infrastructure: roads, open space, drainage, signage, footpaths. We also look after waste management and graffiti. We look after libraries; we look after childcare centres.
In a nutshell, the department's mission is to provide quality services which are responsive to customer needs in an efficient manner. Because of the diverse nature of our services, the staff's background, qualifications and motivations are also very diverse. Ultimately we aim to achieve being best in customer services, being best in value and being best in our work practices.
