Paying your rates

Paying your Rates online

You may pay your rates online via Randwick City Council's Online Service.

Credit Card Service Fee

Randwick City Council charges a Credit Card Service Fee of 1% on credit card transactions. If you choose to use your credit card, you will incur this fee at the time of payment. Visa, MasterCard and AMEX are accepted. 

Payment due dates

If you wish to pay your rates in full, they must be paid by 31 August.  If you choose to pay by quarterly instalments, they are due on the following dates:

1st instalment:  31 August
2nd instalment: 30 November
3rd instalment:  28 February
4th instalment:  31 May

The due dates and amounts payable for each instalment are shown on your annual rates notice. A quarterly instalment is also sent out a month prior to the payment due date. 

Pensioner Concession

Rate rebates are available to eligible pensioners. If you wish to apply please visit our Customer Service Centre or contact us

Alternatively, you may wish to download the Pensioner Concession Application Form, please complete the form making sure to answer all questions that are relevant to you and by signing the form twice on the third page.

Please return the completed form with a photocopy of both the front and the back of your current Centrelink pensioner concession card or your Veterans Affairs TPI or EDA gold card.

Are you having difficulty paying your rates?

If for any reason you are experiencing difficulty in paying your rates by the due dates, you should contact the Council's Rates and Revenue Department as soon as possible, preferably before the account becomes overdue. Council offers flexibility with alternative payment arrangements. Contact us. 

Late payments

If your annual or quarterly payment is not paid in full by the due date, interest is payable on the overdue amount. Interest is calculated on all overdue rates and charged at the rate shown on your rates notice. Recovery action may also be started if you fail to pay your rates by the due date and if you have not contacted Council to make alternative arrangements.

Methods of payment

Direct Debit

Have your rates paid automatically from your bank account. Credit Card and Passbook accounts are NOT accepted. Download the Direct Debit Request form (pdf 24kb).

BPAY

Contact your bank, credit union or building society to make this payment from your cheque or savings (Credit cards are not accepted).

Payments through Australia Post

Payment may be made in person at any Australia Post Branch, using cash, cheque and EFTPOS (debit cards only - credit cards are not accepted). Please present your complete bill.

Payment by telephone

Pay by telephone on 13 18 16 (Visa, MasterCard and AMEX). Credit Card Service Fee applies.

Payment by internet
