Description

Coogee Oval's principal use is as a first grade rugby and cricket facility. A fenced children's playground is located on the perimeter of the oval on the corner of Brook and Dolphin Streets.

Limited parking is available along Alfreda Street and adjacent to the oval (access from Beach Street).

The oval is located opposite Coogee Beach and adjacent to the Coogee shopping village. This prime location makes the oval a significant community focal point. The oval has longstanding cultural and historical links to sports and recreation in the area and is the venue for first class sport.

The oldest building within the Coogee Oval boundary is the grandstand, constructed in 1924. The other buildings are the East Ward Senior Citizens Centre, the Main Entrance Building, the Bob Clarke First Aid Centre and the Cyril Towers Grandstand.
