If your dog is found unleashed in a public place, it can seized by Council officers and taken to the pound. Owners must claim their pet within fourteen days for a registered dog or seven days for an unregistered dog. Dogs which are chipped and registered will be identified via their microchip and their owners notified.

To have your dog released you must pay an impounding fee. If the dog is not registered it must be microchipped and lifetime registered before it will be released.
