Randwick City Council has developed a design manual to help and inspire the refurbishment of older blocks of walk-up flats built in the 1960s and 1970s.

The Design Ideas for Rejuvenating Residential Flat Buildings manual showcases a range of refurbishment concepts using real flat buildings in Randwick City. It is intended to encourage refurbishments that improve:

  • how liveable the units are, to meet current lifestyle needs
  • the environmental performance and sustainability of the building, and
  • the appearance of buildings within the streetscape.
