The majority of drainage infrastructure in our area is under the care and control of Randwick City Council. Council undertakes a variety of work to its drainage infrastructure, including clearing of pits and pipes, reconstruction or relining of old or dilapidated pipes and pits and constructing new drainage infrastructure to increase capacity. Other drainage infrastructure, generally consisting of large trunk lines and associated pits, is controlled by Sydney Water.
Randwick City Council is involved in a number of major drainage projects. A list of current projects includes:
- The augmentation of a drainage line within the Australian Jockey Club (conducted as a joint project with the AJC)
- Doncaster Avenue is being upgraded between Todman Avenue and Bowral Street
- A major catchment study for the West Kensington, Centennial Park, and Randwick Racecourse areas is to be done as a joint project between Randwick City Council and South Sydney City Council.
