Randwick City Council residents can take their excess recyclable material to the Recycling Centre at 72 Perry St, Matraville. The centre is open from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 2:30pm Friday and 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday. The Recycling Centre is not open on public holidays.

Materials currently accepted at the centre are Type 1 to 7 plastic containers, clear, brown and green glass bottles and jars, paper and cardboard, aluminium cans and steel cans, including aerosols.

Garden organics material can be dropped off on Saturdays only between 8:00am and 11:00am. A limit of 2m³ per visit applies.

The Recycling Centre also accepts polystyrene foam, bulk metal such as white goods, motor oil, car batteries, mobile phones, used ink cartridges and empty gas cylinders and fire extinguishers.

The purpose of the centre is to provide the opportunity for Council to divert material from landfill into a beneficial recycling stream.

Council's Recycling Centre is for the use of residents only. Proof of residence is required. Commercial material will not be accepted.
