Our team at the Randwick Sustainability Education Hub look forward to showing you our innovative sustainability centre and inspiring your students to be more energy and water aware in their school and home.

The 2011 school excursion program is brought to you by Randwick City Council and is supported by the NSW Government's Climate Change Fund.

Uncover the mysteries of sustainability...
with your class at Randwick's Sustainability Education Hub

Come and be part of this innovative pilot program available for Early Childhood, Stage One and Stage Three teachers and students from schools in Randwick City.

This pilot program for 2011 involves onsite lessons developed to fit with the:

  • draft NSW Science and Technology Syllabus K-6 and with the new Australian Science Curriculum
  • current NSW Science and Technology and Human Society & Environment Syllabuses K-6
  • Early Years Learning Framework.

These lessons will be run at Randwick Community Centre. This Centre has been transformed over the last year into the showcase 'Randwick Sustainability Education Hub'.

At the Hub you will see a range of energy and water efficient features as well as the productive Permaculture Interpretive Garden. The lessons we have developed use the features of the Hub and focus on a wide variety of science topics.

Children and teachers together can discover energy and water saving technologies and how they can be part of your life. Your school may also receive a set of materials and resources to help students save energy and water at school and at home.

Find out more about our program:
