Experience our Sounds Like Water and Hello Sun lessons to discover more about water, energy and light in our fun-filled sensory lessons. Choose to do either one or both lessons on the same day.

Lesson: Sounds Like Water
A sensory experience where students are introduced to the topic of water. They will participate in learning about water sounds throughout the Permaculture Garden's Water Wise Trail.

This is a fun interactive activity where students use their ears to listen for water sounds around the garden, have fun with water and learn how important water is to their life and others around them. They will learn techniques on how to save water at home.

Note: This lesson is also suitable for preschool and early stage one students. This can be a half day program or if combined with the 'Hello Sun' lesson, can be a full day program.

Lesson: Hello sun
A sensory experience where students discover and experience light and shade. They will find out how we can use sunlight to make energy. Students will explore the garden to see how light affects plants. They will also plant a sun loving vegie seed, and discover a variety of energy saving devices at the Randwick Sustainability Education Hub.

Students will understand how they can make energy saving improvements at home and at school and appreciate the Sun's role in our world.
