Public place recycling

Recycling Centre

Randwick City Council residents can take their excess recyclable material to the Recycling Centre at 72 Perry St, Matraville.

Across Australia, as many as one billion drinks cans are thrown away each year, ending up in landfill. To combat this, Randwick Council commenced a public place recycling trial. Recycling stations were first installed next to the regular garbage bins at three locations along Goldstein Reserve at Coogee Beach and since been extended to Clovelly and Maroubra beaches.

We need the community's help to make public recycling stations a success. These public recycling bins are only for drink and beverage containers made of plastic, glass and aluminium. Please avoid placing any irregular, non-recyclable rubbish in the recycling bins, as even small amounts of the wrong rubbish can result in all the contents of that bin having to go to landfill.
