Council encourages employees to further their tertiary education by providing the opportunity to be considered for study assistance. If the course you are doing, or wanting to do, is related to your current role or your future career opportunities approved study assistance can be in the form of:
- course fees
- resource fees, and
- study leave arrangements.
The study assistance program aims to improve on-the-job performance and career progression opportunities of our employees and to ensure that Council has the highly skilled workforce it needs both now and in the future.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
The council offers a wide range of courses, some of which are designed and facilitated by our Learning and Development Team. We also research relevant courses to suit the professional needs of our staff.
The benefit of CPD is that it ensures staff are up-to-date with current trends and best practice methods in their jobs and industry while ensuring Council has a workforce that is able to deliver on its vision of being a leader in local government.
The Corporate Library is a professional resource available to all staff which provides access to information and resources to support their professional development needs. It includes material on subjects such as:
- corporate development
- leadership, and
- project management.
The information is available in a variety of formats such as literature searches, downloadable audio files and e-books.
The Corporate Library is managed by an experienced librarian with a background in legal and business libraries and the resources are continually being added to and updated.
