Bowen Library has a dedicated collection of resources to assist you to undertake your family history research. The collection includes:

  • books
  • serials
  • the NSW State Archives Genealogy Kit
  • newspapers
  • CD-ROMs
  • telephone directories
  • gazettes
  • maps
  • photographs
  • microfilmed resources.

Family historians are invited to submit further suggestions for purchase to the Local Studies librarian.

An excellent addition to this collection is the electronic resource Ancestry.com This database is proving extremely popular with family historians who are finding the power and coverage of this resource useful. Details of ancestors from all over the world are now accessible at the touch of a button. Ask staff for help using this resource which is available for use in the library only.
