The community consultation resulted in a number of excellent ideas to celebrate Council's sesquicentenary. A regular staff newsletter was used to keep Council staff informed of celebrations and progress as well as to ask for their ideas.
The Let's Celebrate festival was a roaring success with over 10,000 people experiencing the Randwick vibe and immersing themselves in the many cultural activities on offer.
100 Views Randwick was a highlight of the year, engaging children in their natural surroundings using poetry and art as a medium of expression. One of the schools chose to dramatise their experiences of Centennial Park, their "icon", in a play which was viewed by the Mayor of Randwick. They then imortalised the Park with expressive poetry. Dolphin Point in Coogee was chosen by one of the schools as their "icon" with stunning artistic and poetic interpretations, some of which can be viewed to the right. A post project survey asked the children to describe 100 Views in one word and tell us what they enjoyed the most about the project. Schools kept their parents and pupils up to date with school newsletter articles, outling the school's involvement in the project.
